SRINAGAR, June 3 : Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma today called upon the medical fraternity to work with missionary spirit and social commitment to provide upto the mark medicare facilities to the people in health institutions of the State.

Speaking at the first of its kind Grand Performance Awards 2010 ceremony at Convocation Complex, University of Kashmir organized to reward best performers in Health Department, the Minister asked the medical fraternity to put in their best and sincere efforts to enhance the credibility of the noble medical profession.
About 57 personnels of the Health Department, Kashmir including medicos and para-medicos were awarded at the function for their outstanding and dedicated performance while discharging their duties. Besides, the Minister also gave certificates of merits to five health institutions of the Valley, which were adjudged best institutions.
The Minister of State for Health, Javed Ahmad Dar, Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education, Dr. R.K. Jerath, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. M. A. Wani, Director Family Welfare J&K, Dr. Kulbhushan Pandotra, Director ISM, Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar and a galaxy of doctors and para-medicos were present on the occasion which was a real moment of rejoice and jubilation for the health professionals.

The Best Health Institutions which were awarded include Mother and Child Hospital Anantnag, Community Health Centre Chadoora, Sub District Hospital Tangdar, Primary Health Centre Mattan, Sub Centre watergam, Dangiwacha Baramulla, ANM.
The awards presented to the beneficiaries comprise citation with cash reward of Rs 20,000 for specialists Doctors, Rs 15,000 for Medical Officers/ Assistant Surgeons, Rs. 10,000 for CHOs/Para-medics and Rs 5000 to class 4th and ASHA workers.

Performance award conferred on medicos, para-medics of J&K Health Department
JAMMU, May 6: Minister for Health, Sham Lal Sharma today gave
performance award to 41 employees of different categories in
recognition to their performance during the year 2009-10.
The award was given to Doctors, Assistant Drug Controllers,
Pharmacists, Nurses, Drivers, Safai Karamcharis, FMPHWs, Nursing
Orderlies, ministerial staff and ASHA workers of Jammu province at an
impressive function organized by the Department of Health and Family
Welfare at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium in Jammu University here
today.
The award carries cash of rupees twenty thousand for doctors, rupees
ten thousand for Pharmacists, rupees seven thousand to Nurses and
FMPHW,and rupees five thousand for ASHA workers, Nursing Orderlies and
Safai Karmcharis.
Besides, District Hospitals, Udhampur, Rajouri, Community Health
Centre, Akhnoor, Public Health Centre, Manjakote, Allopathic
Dispensary Badi Khad and Health Sub-Centre, Thandi Choi were also
adjudged best performing institutions during the year 2009-10 and were
given certificates of excellence.

The awards will be given to the outstanding employees of Health
Department every year after accessing the performance of each
individual in their respective fields. Aim of instituting such awards
is to create sense of healthy competitions among various categories of
employees and to improve the overall healthcare facilities in the
State. The similar awards will also be given to the employees of
Kashmir province shortly.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that professional audit
has proved very useful and helped in bringing transparency and
accountability in the Department. |

Expressing satisfaction over the performance of Health Department registered during the past one year, the Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma has said that steps taken by the Government to improve health facilities across the State, have started yielding tangible results. He said that the Government would continue its efforts to further improve the facilities with special focus in rural and far off areas.
